If you had told me a few years ago that I would one day create a platform focused on integrative cancer education, I never would have believed you.

Like many people facing cancer, I didn’t arrive here overnight.

My journey started long before the words “you have cancer” were ever spoken.

For years, I experienced symptoms that never fully made sense. I knew something in my body felt off, but appointment after appointment often ended with reassurance, normal labs, or explanations that never seemed to fit the bigger picture. Like many patients — especially women — I slowly learned how easy it is to begin questioning yourself when your symptoms are repeatedly minimized or dismissed.

At the same time, I was living a busy life: raising a family, working professionally in healthcare and education, and trying to keep moving forward despite persistent health concerns, fatigue, inflammation, and a growing sense that something deeper was being missed.

Then came the diagnosis: bladder cancer.

Hearing the word “cancer” changes everything.

Suddenly, I found myself on the other side of healthcare — not as the clinician, educator, or researcher, but as the patient. And despite my background in health promotion, physical therapy, and research, I quickly realized how overwhelming the cancer world truly is when you are living inside it.

There were endless decisions.
Conflicting information.
Late-night research spirals.
Fear.
Hope.
Uncertainty.

And perhaps most frustrating of all: I found a massive gap between conventional cancer treatment and practical, understandable education about integrative and holistic support options.

Patients were left trying to sort through:

  • scientific research

  • online opinions

  • supplement claims

  • alternative therapies

  • social media advice

  • conflicting practitioner recommendations

…all while simply trying to survive and make good decisions for themselves and their families.

I created Just Keep Peeing because I knew there had to be a better way.

The name itself came from my bladder cancer journey — a little humor in the middle of something incredibly difficult. Inspired by the idea of “just keep swimming,” it became a reminder to keep moving forward one step at a time, even on the hardest days.

But while the name was born from bladder cancer, the mission quickly grew beyond it.

Because cancer is cancer.
The fear, overwhelm, confusion, and desperate search for clarity are universal across diagnoses.

Just Keep Peeing was built for every cancer patient and every family trying to navigate this complicated world with a little more confidence and a little less fear.

My goal is not to replace conventional oncology care.
In fact, I deeply value evidence-based medicine and the physicians dedicating their lives to treating cancer.

Instead, this platform exists to help bridge the gap between conventional care and integrative support — translating complex research into approachable education patients can actually understand and apply.

Here, you’ll find:

  • evidence-informed integrative oncology education

  • practical tools and resources

  • breakdowns of emerging therapies and supplements

  • questions to ask your providers

  • environmental and lifestyle considerations

  • honest conversations about navigating cancer in the real world

Most importantly, I hope this space helps patients feel less alone.

Because cancer affects far more than just a diagnosis or a treatment plan. It impacts your mind, your family, your identity, your environment, your routines, your finances, your relationships, and your sense of safety in your own body.

And while none of us would choose this journey, we can choose how we walk through it:
with education,
with curiosity,
with support,
and with hope.

Thank you for being here.

And wherever you are in your journey — just keep going.
